UCLA - As a true freshman in 2004-05, Farmar (Far-mar) was the Rivals.com National Freshman of the Year and just the fifth UCLA player in history to earn Pac-10 Freshman of the Year honors . . . One of only two Bruins to start every game (29, with sophomore teammate Arron Afflalo), Farmar averaged 34.3 minutes (No. 2 on the team), 13.2 points (No. 2 - also No. 3 on the Bruin all-time freshman chart, No. 1 among freshman guards), a team-high 5.28 assists and a team-high .801 (109-136) from the foul line . . . He led all Pac-10 freshmen in scoring, assists, free throw percentage and minutes played and was second in steals . . . As a senior prepster in 2003-04, Farmar led Taft HS to the school's first Los Angeles City title and he was a McDonald's All-American. 2004-05 -- In 29 starts, Farmar averaged 34.3 minutes (No. 2 on the team), 13.2 points (No. 2 - also No. 3 on the Bruin all-time freshman chart, No. 1 among freshman guards), 3.5 rebounds (No. 4), a team-high 5.28 assists and 1.41 steals (No. 2), while shooting .411 (120-292) from the field, .333 (No. 4, 34-102) from three-point range and a team-high .801 (109-136) from the foul line . . . He was 14th in the Pac-10 in scoring, second in assists, seventh in free throw percentage, ninth in steals and fifth in minutes played entering the NCAA Tournament . . . HIGH SCHOOL - Farmar (Far-mar)scored a record 54 points in a single game and had over 2,000 points in two seasons at Taft HS.
2004 - As a senior, Farmar averaged 27.5 points and 6.5 assists and led Taft, coached by Derrick Taylor, to the school's first Los Angeles City title (a 64-60 victory over UCLA teammate's Josh Shipp's Fairfax HS squad/Farmar hit four straight free throws over the last 20 seconds to seal the victory for Taft and scored 29 points in the game) and a 28-3 final overall record ... In the southern California Regional playoffs, he scored 36 points in a quarterfinal victory over Mission Viejo and 38 points, including 27 of Taft's final 29 points (20 in the fourth period), in a semifinal loss to Etiwanda ... Along with the McDonald's All-America game (he played 19 minutes, with six points, one rebound, a team-high tying three assists and a game-high seven steals), Farmar was also chosen for the USA Basketball Men's Junior National Select team and the Jordan Capital Classic ... The Los Angeles Times Player of the Year and LA City Co-Player of the Year (with Shipp), Farmar was named the CIF Los Angeles City Section High School Player of the Year at the Wooden Award dinner banquet ... Also earned USA Today Super 25 selection, Parade Magazine second-team All-American, Slam Magazine Honorable Mention All-American, CalHi Sports All-State honors and the southern California Jewish Athlete of the Year ... His senior preseason honors included - PrepWestHoops No. 1 point guard in the West, Athlon's No. 7 point guard in the U. S. and All-Star Sports Report No. 8 player in the U. S.
2003 - During the summer, competed at the 6th annual USA Basketball Youth Development Festival at the U. S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO (started two of five games and helped lead the West to a bronze medal, Farmar averaged 14.0 points and was the Festival leader in three-point shooting (60.7, 17-28), assists (9.2) and steals (2.6) ...As a junior, he averaged 28.5 points per game, 8.0 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 4.5 steals ... Led Taft to a 25-6 overall record, including 10-0 in the conference and to the CIF Los Angeles City Section semifinals (first time in school history) ... At the Simi Valley Tournament, he averaged 43.0 points in four games ... Daily News Co-Player of the Year.
2002 - Sat out Taft's season after transferring from Birmingham HS where he competed as a freshman.
